Righteous men over the generations have said that every year, as preparation of receiving the Torah on the holiday, a person should take upon himself one good resolution of improvement in his service of G-d.  The Children of Israel accepted upon themselves the Torah and said “We shall do and we shall hear” even though they didn’t know what they would be hearing; thus every year on this day every Jew should add spirituality to his life.

In accordance with the duty of the day, the Torah giants have suggested that every single person “adopt” for himself one pure Jewish child and feed him at his table. For a small sum you can provide a daily warm meal for a child, to ease his hunger.

The child will go to school happy and satiated and will be able to learn diligently and happily, in your merit.
